Javier Matilla named captain

Athens Kallithea FC announce that Javier Matilla, who recently agreed to a contract extension, will serve as captain for the 2025/26 season.

Matilla:

“The club has done a lot for me, and now I need to help the club, to push it back to where it belongs. This is what feels right for me, and I want the responsibility. I could have taken more money somewhere else, but that’s not the most important thing in life. I feel very close to this club. Ted and Peter are good people, they have always treated me with respect, and I can work with them because we share the same passion, competitiveness, and ambition. I feel very happy to be continuing my career in Kallithea, I am honored to be serving as our captain, and I am ready to fight for another championship this season.”
