Javier Matilla agrees to contract extension

Athens Kallithea FC announce that Javier Matilla has agreed to a contract extension to remain with the club through the 2025/26 season.

Matilla, 37, joined AKFC in February 2023 and has been a key figure in the team over the last two-and-a-half seasons. The former Villarreal, Real Betis, and Aris Thessaloniki midfielder scored five goals with four assists in 27 appearances to help the team win promotion to the Super League in 2023/24, capped with the assist on the promotion-clinching goal against Chania in May 2024. Matilla registered one goal with two assists in 23 appearances in the Super League last season.
