After conceding an equalizer to hosts Panachaiki from a set piece, AKFC did not manage to respond despite their control of the ball and would have to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw on the trip to Patra in Matchday 12 of the 2023/24 Super League 2 season.
AKFC attacked aggressively from the start, and were denied by two spectacular saves from ‘keeper Andreas Kolovouris within the first half hour, but Panachaiki would soon succumb to the pressure. In the 35th minute, on the second of back-to-back corner kicks, Giannis Loukinas would pounce on a loose ball in the box, and AKFC were finally ahead.
To that point, Panachaiki hadn’t threatened at all, but they would stun AKFC just six minutes later, when a deep free-kick was flicked on to the back post and Themistoklis Patrinos was there to bundle the ball over the line.
After the break, AKFC were continually frustrated by Panachaiki’s defense, as they sat back and sought to take a point from the match. AKFC’s best chances came to Orestis Tstinos in the 74th minute and substitute Andreas Vasilogiannis in the 76th minute, but ultimately they could not find a winner.
