SL2 23/24: Athens Kallithea 4-0 Ilioupoli

AKFC cruised to a 4-0 victory over Ilioupoli at Grigoris Lamprakis Stadium on Sunday afternoon, expanding their lead at the top of the promotion playoff standings to six points with three matches remaining.

Giannis Loukinas opened the scoring with a sweetly struck volley from Javier Matilla’s free-kick in the 20th minute, and he would add a second from the penalty spot just before half-time, bringing his tally to five goals in five games in the playoffs.

Demethryus would put the result beyond doubt with a brilliant solo goal in the 57th minute, controlling a pass from Panagiotis Kynigopoulos and weaving through three defenders before chipping the sliding ‘keeper.

AKFC remained in total control the rest of the way, and substitute Gonzalo Torres would tack on a fourth goal in stoppage time, his second of the playoffs and fourth of the season, to close out the match.
