SL2 22/23: Olympiacos B 5-4 Athens Kallithea

Despite four goals from Giannis Loukinas, a comeback effort would fall short on Saturday afternoon as AKFC suffered their second loss of the season, falling 5-4 to Olympiacos B at the Rentis Training Center in Matchday 22 of the 2022/23 Super League 2 season.

AKFC were stunned by two quick Olympiacos counterattacks early into the match, finished off by Guinea youth international striker Algassime Bah in the 8th minute and 13th minute.

After going down 2-0, AKFC regained composure and went back on the offensive, until Loukinas pulled one back just before the half-time whistle, fighting through traffic and bundling the ball in from close range.

Early into the second half, Demethryus would miss a golden opportunity to level the score at 2-2, and in a cruel twist of fate, Olympiacos would almost immediately make it 3-1 on yet another counterattack, with Bah completing his hat-trick in the 56th minute.

Loukinas would bring AKFC back to 3-2 with a gorgeous left-footed strike into the top corner in the 68th minute, but just two minutes later Olympiacos would regain their two-goal lead through Ioannis Kosti.

As AKFC aggressively committed forward, Olympiacos took advantage by adding a fifth goal in the 76th minute, giving them an inexplicable 5-2 lead.

Refusing to give in, Loukinas would strike twice more in the 83rd minute and 90th minute, but it was too little, too late, as AKFC could not grab an equalizer in stoppage time, ultimately going down by the 5-4 scoreline in a bizarre match.
