SL2 22/23: Athens Kallithea 3-1 Panachaiki

After conceding a goal against the run of play just before half-time, AKFC immediately responded through a Giannis Loukinas brace early into the second half en route to a 3-1 victory over Panachaiki at Grigoris Lamprakis Stadium in Matchday 23 of the 2022/23 Super League 2 season.

The in-form Loukinas has now scored eight goals in the last three matches, bringing his total to 14 goals on the season.

AKFC dominated the ball from the start, and their best chances of the first half came when Panagiotis Kynigopoulos was denied by an excellent save in the 25th minute and Omar Santana fired a shot off the crossbar in the 39th minute. With the pressure mounting, it felt like a breakthrough was a matter of time, but the visitors would nick a goal on their only chance of the half in the 45th minute, as Charalampos Topal finished off a counterattack that stunned AKFC.

After the break, AKFC came out with a renewed aggression and wasted little time in turning the match around, as Loukinas struck in the 51st minute and 55th minute to make it 2-1.

In the 77th minute, AKFC ‘keeper Panagiotis Vosniadis would step up with a massive save in a 1-v-1 situation to preserve the lead, as AKFC looked to close out the result.

Loukinas missed out on a hat-trick when he went off the post in the 80th minute, but substitute Adil Nabi would put the match away with an emphatic strike in the 94th minute to secure all three points and extend AKFC’s home unbeaten run to 17 games.
