Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of center-back Kosmas Gezos, 32, on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Austria Klagenfurt.
Born in Athens, Gezos came through the academy of Panionios, and made his Super League debut with the club at the age of 19 in April 2012.
After two loan stints in the second division with Acharnaikos and Glyfada, Gezos returned to Panionios and made nine Super League appearances in the 2014/15 season.
Gezos moved abroad in April 2014, signing with Swedish side Akropolis IF, where he would make 56 total appearances with four goals across three seasons.
In February 2019, Gezos arrived at Austria Klagenfurt, and he would quickly become a mainstay in the team. In the 2020/21 season, Gezos made 28 league appearances with five goals to help Klagenfurt earn their first-ever promotion to the Austrian Bundesliga, where they would spend the next four seasons.
Gezos made 167 career appearances for Klagenfurt with 18 goals and six assists across seven seasons, including 20 appearances with one goal in the Bundesliga last season.
Welcome, Kosmas.
