Friendly 24/25: Asteras AKTOR 0-0 Athens Kallithea

In their final preseason friendly match before the opening weekend of the 2024/25 Super League season, Athens Kallithea FC defended well as a team and produced a scoreless draw against hosts Asteras AKTOR at Theodoros Kolokotronis Stadium in Tripoli on Sunday evening.

Asteras, set to participate in the Super League for the 18th consecutive season, are an experienced side that would present a proper test ahead of the season, but AKFC were firmly in control of the ball in the first half, going close to scoring through Javier Matilla in the 29th minute, Thierry Moutinho in the 33rd minute, and Roberts Uldriķis in the 37th minute.

After the break, with AKFC manager Massimo Donati making three changes, Moutinho missed the target with another chance in the 50th minute. Donati would make another five changes just after the hour mark, and AKFC would contain a late push from the hosts thanks to some brave defending.

AKFC will play away to Levadiakos on Sunday 18 August at 19:00 in Matchday 1 of the 2024/25 Super League season.
