Athens Kallithea FC appoint Dimitris Kalaitzidis as manager

Athens Kallithea FC announce the appointment of Dimitris Kalaitzidis as first team manager.

Kalaitzidis, 69, was born in Serres, and has enjoyed his greatest managerial success at Veria, with whom he won promotions to Super League 2 in 2004/05 and to the Super League in 2006/07 and 2011/12. After resigning at Veria, he returned to the club in the middle of the 2012/13 Super League season and guided them to safety with a 12th place finish, registering nine wins, seven draws, and nine losses, while also reaching the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup.

In 2014 and 2015, Kalaitzidis had stints as manager and technical director at Aris.

After leaving Aris, Kalaitzidis promoted Apollon Pontou (now Apollon Kalamarias) to Super League 2 in the 2016/17 season, and went on to spend eight seasons at the club through the 2023/24 season.
