Anthony Mounier departs Athens Kallithea FC

Athens Kallithea FC and French attacker Anthony Mounier have agreed to a contract termination by mutual consent.

Mounier, 36, was signed in September 2021, at the outset of a new era for the club, and led the team to a second place finish in the 2021/22 season with 17 goals in 30 appearances.

After injury setbacks, Mounier made seven appearances with one goal last season, and one appearance this season.

Mounier brought invaluable top-level experience to the club, having played in Ligue 1 (Lyon, Nice, Montpellier), Serie A (Bologna, Atalanta), and Super League 1 (Panathinaikos, Panetolikos, Apollon Smyrnis) before joining AKFC.

AKFC vice president Peter Philipakos:

“At a time when our club was restarting from humble beginnings, Anthony came in and took responsibility for our project. He not only delivered important results but he set a standard at the club with his winning mentality and his work ethic on and off the pitch which was influential through the team. We regard his contributions as foundational to the success that follows. He will always have a home at El Paso.”

Thank you, Anthony.
