Born in Valencia, Venezuela, Mejías emerged in Venezuela’s Primera División with local side Carabobo. At age 20, he moved to Spain’s La Liga with Leganés, and would have loan spells at Cartagena, Gimnàstic, Atlético Madrid B, and Málaga, before joining Beitar Jerusalem. Mejías was a regular starter at Beitar for a year and a half until a residency issue cut his time short, and he would sign with AKFC in July 2023.
In his debut season with the club, Mejías made 22 league starts to help AKFC win promotion to the Super League.
