Triantafyllos Pasalidis to join Athens Kallithea FC

Athens Kallithea FC have reached an agreement with center-back Triantafyllos Pasalidis, who will join the club upon the expiration of his contract with Salernitana on 1 July 2024, subject to the successful completion of a medical.

Pasalidis, 27, spent the second half of the 2023/24 season with Salernitana in Serie A, where he made appearances against Inter, AC Milan, and Juventus, and previously made 138 appearances in the Greek Super League with OFI Crete and Asteras Tripolis.

Born in Kordelio in the suburbs of Thessaloniki, Pasalidis came through the academy at Aiginiakos and broke into the first team at the age of 19 in the 2015/16 season, making 12 appearances as the club earned promotion to the second division for the first time in their history.

After one more season with Aiginiakos, Pasalidis would earn a move to the Super League with Asteras Tripolis, where he would make 83 league appearances over the next four seasons, helping the club to one fifth-place finish with UEFA Europa League qualification and one sixth-place finish.

Pasalidis left Asteras Tripolis for OFI Crete in May 2021, making 22 appearances in his debut season with the club as they finished seventh in the table. After making another 22 appearances for the club the following season, OFI would eventually sell Pasalidis to Salernitana in the middle of the 2023/24 season.

Just days after his announcement with the Granata, Pasalidis was thrown right into the fire, making his Serie A debut on 4 February 2024, getting the start and playing 72 minutes in a 0-0 draw away to 10th-place Torino.

Playing left, right, and center in a three-man defense, Pasalidis would make eight total appearances through the remainder of the season, including substitute appearances in draws with Juventus and Udinese and a 90-minute performance in a draw with AC Milan at San Siro on the final day of the season.

In international play, Pasalidis earned 11 caps with the Greece Under-21 national team, and he was an unused substitute with the senior national team in a friendly match against Saudi Arabia in May 2018.

Welcome, Triantafyllos.
