Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of midfielder Theofanis Tzandaris, 33, following the expiration of his contract with Asteras Tripolis.
Tzandaris is a veteran of the Super League, having made 201 top flight appearances for PAOK, Panionios, Panathinaikos, Lamia, and Asteras Tripolis.
Born in Thessaloniki, Tzandaris came through the academy of PAOK and made his first team debut at the age of 20 in September 2013. Tzandaris made his breakthrough at the club the following season, with 29 appearances across all competitions, including six appearances with one goal in the UEFA Europa League.
Tzandaris’ performances earned him a transfer to Olympiacos in July 2015, but after two seasons on loan at Panionios and Slovenian side Koper, he would move across town to Panathinaikos in August 2017, making 29 appearances for the Greens over two-and-a-half seasons.
After a half-season abroad at Spartak Trnava in Slovakia, Tzandaris returned to Greece with Lamia and established himself as a key figure in the team, making 123 total appearances over four seasons in the Super League, and helping the club to a 6th place finish in 2023/24.
Tzandaris spent the last two seasons at Asteras Tripolis, making 46 total appearances for the club.
Welcome, Fanis.
