Sebastian Mladen joins Athens Kallithea FC

Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of Romanian defender Sebastian Mladen, 34, following the expiration of his contract with Panetolikos.

Mladen was one of the captains at Panetolikos in the Super League over the last four seasons, and previously spent seven consecutive seasons at Romanian Liga I side Farul Constanța, winning one league championship and one Romanian Cup.

Born in Calafat, Mladen would join the academy at AS Roma by the age of 16, and emerge as a Romania youth international.

After early loan spells in Romania with Farul and Chindia, in Portugal’s Primeira Liga with Olhanense, Mladen gained stability in Italy’s Serie C with Südtirol and then returned to Farul on a permanent transfer, going on to make 204 total appearances in all competitions over seven seasons at the club, winning the league title in the 2016/17 season and the Romanian Cup in 2018/19 season.

In August 2022, Mladen arrived at Panetolikos, and immediately established himself as a mainstay in the team, making
86 total appearances in the Super League over the last four seasons.
