Athens Kallithea FC are pleased to announce that attacker Panagiotis Kynigopoulos has signed a contract extension through the 2025/26 season, committing his future to the club amid interest from Super League 1 and Europe.
Kynigopoulos, 26, made his club debut in January 2022 and went on to score nine goals with two assists in 24 matches in the second half of the 2021/22 season, helping AKFC finish second in Super League 2. In the ongoing 2022/23 season, Kynigopoulos has scored five goals with one assist in 14 appearances between league and cup.
“Everyone at the club is proud that Panagiotis has chosen to make a further commitment to our project,” said AKFC vice president Peter Philipakos. “Since he arrived, Panagiotis has developed into a dominant player in this league and he is still continually improving, with the potential to be performing at a very high level. We are excited for the chance to see him realize that potential here.”
“From the first moment I joined the club, I could sense everyone’s faith in me and their support. I signed a contract extension because I believe wholeheartedly in this project and I know the professionalism of everyone involved. My goal is to reach the highest level possible with Athens Kallithea, even competing in European competition. I am excited about this contract extension and I will give this club my 100 percent,” said Kynigopoulos.
