Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of Greek-German attacker Nikos Zografakis, 26, on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with German Regionalliga side KSV Hessen Kassel.

Born in Berlin, Zografakis came through the academy of Hertha Berlin, eventually making 25 total appearances with two goals and four assists for the reserve side in the fourth-tier Regionalliga.

From Hertha, Zografakis would switch to Stuttgart’s reserves, making 39 total appearances with 10 goals and 14 assists over a season-and-a-half in the Germany’s fourth and fifth tiers, before earning a move to the 2. Bundesliga with SV Sandhausen, though he would not make an appearance for the club.

Zografakis would spend the 2019/20 season back in the Regionalliga with Energie Cottbus, making 36 appearances with 13 goals and six assists. After a season in the 3. Liga with SC Verl, Zografakis arrived at Hessen Kassel, where he made 75 total appearances with 15 goals and 13 assists over the last two seasons.

In international play, Zografakis was a German youth international from the Under-16 to Under-19 levels before switching to represent Greece at the Under-21 level.

Welcome, Nikos.
