Nicolás Marotta joins Athens Kallithea FC

Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of Argentinian center-back Nicolás Marotta on a free transfer.

The hard-tackling 26-year-old Argentine has played in the first divisions of Bolivia, Peru, and most recently Colombia in the 2023 season.

Born in Córdoba, Marotta passed through his hometown Primera División club Talleres de Córdoba and gained experience in Argentina’s third division with Crucero del Norte.

In the 2019 season, Marotta joined Club Aurora in Bolivia’s first division, making 18 appearances with one goal during the year.

After returning to Argentina with Boca Unidos, Marotta would make another move abroad to Peru’s first division with Binacional, where he made 39 total appearances with four goals between the second half of the 2021 season and the 2022 season.

Marotta spent the first half of the 2023 season in Colombia’s first division with Bucaramanga, making 18 appearances on the campaign.

Over this time in the Bolivian, Peruvian, and Colombian first divisions, Marotta played all 90 minutes in 71 out of 75 career appearances (two substitutions and two red cards).
