Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of French center-back Nicolas Isimat-Mirin on a free transfer.
Isimat-Mirin, 32, is a three-time winner of the Dutch Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven and also has experience in Ligue 1, the Turkish Süper Lig, and Major League Soccer. He spent last season in the Eredivisie with Vitesse, where he served as team captain.
Born in the Parisian suburb of Meudon, Isimat-Mirin played his youth football at Roissy-en-Brie, the renowned Clairefontaine, and Stade Rennais before arriving at Valenciennes, where he would eventually break into the first team, making his Ligue 1 debut in May 2011 at the age of 19.
After establishing himself as a regular starter and one of the top young talents in Ligue 1 over the next two seasons, Isimat-Mirin would earn a transfer to AS Monaco in June 2013, making 11 total appearances in his debut season with the club, before moving to Dutch giants PSV.
Isimit-Mirin would help PSV win the Eredivisie championship in 2014-15, making 25 total appearances during the season and prompting the club to turn his loan move into a permanent transfer. In this time with the club, Isimit-Mirin would win two more league championships in 2015-16 and 2017-18, making 130 total appearances with six goals and one assist, including 14 appearances in the UEFA Champions League and eight appearances in the UEFA Europa League.
After leaving PSV, Isimat-Mirin would sign for Beşiktaş, making 14 appearances in the Turkish Süper Lig in 2018-19, and then 16 appearances while on loan with Toulouse in Ligue 1 in 2019-20.
From Beşiktaş, Isimat-Mirin moved to Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer in February 2021, making 46 total appearances for the club with one goal and one assist in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Isimat-Mirin would return to the Eredivisie with Vitesse in January 2023, making 46 total appearances for the club with one goal and one assists over the last season and a half.
In international play, Isimat-Mirin represented France at the Under-20 and Under-21 levels.
Welcome, Nicolas.
