Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of Bosnian wing-back Nemanja Nikolić on a free transfer.
Nikolić, 23, is a former Bosnia youth international who joined Olympiacos at the age of 19 and spent four seasons at the club, going out on a string of loan spells and then settling in with Olympiacos B, before leaving for Super League 2 club Chania where he was a key player last season.
Born in Zvornik, Bosnia, Nikolić came through the academy at FK Sarajevo before breaking into the Bosnian top flight with FK Mladost at the age of 18, making 19 league appearances in his debut season with the club, which prompted a move to Olympiacos the following summer in August 2019.
After three loan spells — to Serbian top flight club Radnički Niš and back to Mladost in the 2019/20 season, then to Super League 2 club Chania in the 2020/21 season — Nikolić would have two solid seasons with Olympiacos B, making 42 total appearances with two goals in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 seasons.
Last summer, Nikolić returned to Chania on a permanent transfer, making 19 total appearances with three goals and two assists to help the club finish second in Super League 2.
In international play, Nikolić has represented Bosnia from the Under-15 to Under-21 levels.
Welcome, Nemanja.
