Michalis Manias joins Athens Kallithea FC

Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of striker Michalis Manias until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Manias, 35, has scored 51 career goals in the Super League and 37 career goals in Super League 2, and has also played in the top divisions of Belgium, Poland, and Cyprus. Born in Rhodes, he has spent the last three-and-a-half seasons on his home island with Diagoras and most recently Apollon Kalythion.

After beginning his career at PAO Rouf, Manias had a breakout season with Apollon Smyrnis in 2012/13, emerging as Super League 2 top scorer with 18 goals and powering the club to a Super League promotion.

Manias would move on from Apollon and spend the next three seasons in the Super League with Aris and Giannina, scoring a combined 25 goals with five assists in the league between the two clubs, which would earn him a transfer abroad with Belgian side Westerlo in June 2016.

After six months at Westerlo, scoring two goals in 14 appearances (five starts), Manias returned to Greece with Asteras Tripolis in January 2017, where he would score 27 goals in 84 appearances over the next two-and-a-half seasons, helping the club finish as high as fifth place in the Super League and qualify for the UEFA Europa League in the 2018/19 season.

After a season in Poland’s Ekstraklasa with Pogoń Szczecin in 2019/20, Manias moved to Cyprus with Anorthosis and Olympiakos Nicosia, scoring four goals with one assist across two seasons.

In January 2020, Manias returned home with Diagoras in Super League 2, scoring 22 goals with five assists in 72 total matches over two-and-a-half seasons, which included being a thorn in the side of Athens Kallithea FC in 2023/24, as the 1.89-meter target man scored in both meetings between the clubs to give Diagoras four out of a possible six points, which AKFC eventually overcame to win promotion.

Following Diagoras’ relegation, Manias moved across the island to Apollon Kalythion for the first half of the 2025/26 season, scoring five goals in 11 matches in Gamma Ethniki.

Welcome, Michalis.
