Michaël Pereira joins Athens Kallithea FC

Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of French winger Michaël Pereira on a free transfer.

Pereira, 35, spent the majority of his career in Spain’s top two divisions with Mallorca. He is also a two-time winner of Romania’s Liga I with CFR Cluj, and helped Yeni Malatyaspor earn promotion to the Turkish Süper Lig for the first time in club history. Pereira played the second half of last season with Apollon Smyrnis in Super League 2.

Born in the Parisian suburb of Livry-Gargan, Pereira passed through amateur side UJA Alfortville before moving to Mallorca. After a season with Mallorca’s reserve side, Pereira made his first team debut in a Primera División match against Real Madrid in August 2010. Over the next six seasons, Pereira would make 108 appearances with eight goals and 10 assists in the Primera División and 73 appearances with five goals and nine assists in the Segunda División playing for Mallorca along with one loan spell at Granada.

In July 2016, Pereira joined Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor, and he would immediately help lift the club to their first-ever top-flight promotion, making 30 appearance with six goals in the 2016/17 season. Pereira would go on to make 48 total appearances with four goals over the next two seasons in the Turkish Süper Lig.

In July 2019, Pereira earned a move to Romanian power CFR Cluj, where he would win league titles in 2019/20 and 2020/21, making 49 total appearances with three goals for the club, including 12 total appearances with 1 goal between the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.

After another season back in Turkey with Kocaelispor, Pereira split last season between Wisła Kraków and Apollon Smyrnis. He made 16 appearances with five assists in the second half of the 2022/23 Super League 2 season, helping Apollon to a third-place finish.

Welcome, Michaël.
