Juan Cantillo departs AKFC with pending move to Fortaleza

Athens Kallithea FC and striker Juan Cantillo have agreed to a contract termination by mutual consent in advance of a pending move to Brazilian club Fortaleza.

The termination was executed just prior to the close of the transfer window in Brazil, which has now been confirmed by the Hellenic Football Federation, and Cantillo is expected to be announced at Fortaleza in the coming days. AKFC will retain a percentage of economic rights with respect to any future transfer.

Cantillo, 23, joined AKFC from Deportivo Cali in August 2025, and made 19 appearances with seven goals in the 2025/26 Super League 2 season.

Fortaleza are currently competing in Brazil’s Série B, after spending the previous seven seasons in Série A.
