Giannis Sardelis joins Athens Kallithea FC

Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of attacking midfielder Giannis Sardelis on a free transfer.

Sardelis, 23, is a former Greece youth international who has passed through the academy of AEK Athens and the reserve team of Panathinaikos.

Born in Methoni, Sardelis began his youth football in local academy AOPK Patista, and eventually left to join the academy of AEK Athens, where he would spend four seasons in total playing for the Under-19 and Under-20 teams, while making two appearances with the first team — his professional debut, in which he scored a goal, against Apollon Larissa in the Greek Cup in October 2018, and a playoff match against Asteras Tripolis in May 2021.

In August 2021, Sardelis moved on to Panathinaikos B, where he would make 70 appearances with 12 goals and five assists in Super League 2 over the last three seasons.

In international play, Sardelis has represented Greece at the Under-18, Under-19, and Under-21 levels, most recently making five appearances with two goals in qualifying for the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

Welcome, Giannis.
