Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of striker Giannis Loukinas on a free transfer following the mutual termination of his contract with Super League 2 club Kalamata. He has signed personal terms through the 2024/25 season.
Loukinas, 31, was the top scorer in the South Group of Super League 2 last season, scoring 21 goals in 30 league appearances.
Born in Athens, the 1.85-meter-tall striker has registered a total of 99 goals in 262 career appearances in Greek league and cup competitions. In 2014/15, Loukinas scored 15 goals between league and playoffs to help Iraklis earn promotion to Super League 1, and he spent the next two seasons in the top flight with the Thessaloniki-based club, making 26 total appearances in the league with one goal. From Iraklis, he would move on to AE Karaiskakis, PAS Giannina, Platanias, and Veria, scoring at least nine goals in each of the next four seasons between 2017/18 and 2020/21, before joining Kalamata in July 2021 and enjoying the best season of his career.
Welcome, Giannis.
