Giannis Gerolemou joins Athens Kallithea FC

Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of Cypriot midfielder Giannis Gerolemou, 25, on a free transfer.

Born in Limassol, Gerolemou came through the academy of AEL Limassol and made his first team debut at the age of 16 in April 2016. Gerolemou went on to make 23 total appearances with one goal for the club from the 2015/16 season through the 2019/20 season, before spending the 2020/21 season on loan with Tsarsko Selo in Bulgaria’s top division, and then making a permanent transfer to AEK B in August 2021.

At AEK B, Gerolemou would make 43 total appearances across two Super League 2 seasons, registering two goals and five assists.

In September 2023, Gerolemou returned to AEL, and made 40 total appearances with two goals and four assists over the last two seasons, with AEL finishing in 8th place in the Cypriot First Division in both seasons.

Gerolemou signed with Iraklis last month, but the two sides agreed to a mutual termination of the contract last week, allowing him to join AKFC.

In international play, Gerolemou has represented Cyprus at the Under-17, Under-19, and Under-21 levels.

Welcome, Giannis.
