Georgios Manthatis returns from loan at KTP

Athens Kallithea FC announce the return of full-back Georgios Manthatis from his loan with Finnish top flight club KTP.

Since his arrival in January 2023, Manthatis emerged as one of the top players in the Veikkausliiga this season, typically lining up as a wing-back. To date, he has made 16 total league and cup appearances for KTP with one goal and one assist.

Originally set to remain with KTP through the end of the 2023 Veikkausliiga season, AKFC have negotiated an early release from the loan, in order for Manthatis to be available for the start of the 2023/24 Super League 2 season.

Manthatis will make his final appearance for KTP tomorrow in a league match against Ilves. KTP are currently seventh in the Veikkausliiga table.

An Olympiacos product and former Greek youth international, Manthatis joined AKFC in January 2022. He made 20 league appearances in the 2021/22 season and five league appearances in the first half of the 2022/23 season before moving to Finland.
