Athens Kallithea FC announce that wingback Georgios Manthatis and central defender Nicolás Marotta have agreed to contract extensions to remain with the club through the 2024/25 season.
Manthatis and Marotta were both key figures in the team’s promotion to the Super League.
Manthatis, 27, joined AKFC in January 2022 and has made 56 appearances for the club over the last three seasons, including 26 appearances with one goal and one assist during last season’s promotion campaign, while serving as team vice-captain.
Manthatis is a former Greece youth international and emerged from the academy into the first team at Olympiacos, with whom he won the Super League in the 2016/17 season.
Marotta, 27, joined AKFC in September 2023 and made 27 appearances in his debut season with the club, scoring two critical goals along the way — a late winner in a derby with Kalamata in December and the promotion-clinching goal against Chania in May.
Before joining AKFC, the Argentine defender played in the first divisions of Bolivia, Peru, and Colombia.
