Elías Pereyra joins Athens Kallithea FC on loan

Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of Argentine left-back Elías Pereyra, 23, on loan from Primera División club Godoy Cruz through the end of the 2022/23 season.

Born in Buenos Aires, Pereyra remarkably overcame leukemia as a teenager before going on to sign his first professional football contract with his boyhood club San Lorenzo, where he made his first team debut in a Primera División match against Lanús in August 2018.

Pereyra would make 12 total appearances in all competitions for the historic Argentine club during the 2018/19 season, while earning eight caps with the Argentina Under-20 national team between July 2018 and February 2019.

After a short loan spell with Benfica B the following season, Pereyra would leave San Lorenzo to sign with Greek Super League club Panetolikos in August 2020. Over two seasons, Pereyra made 34 total appearances between league and cup competitions for the Agrinio-based club.

In July 2022, Pereyra returned to the Argentine Primera División with Godoy Cruz, making eight total appearances with one assist between league and cup through the end of the season in October 2022.
