Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of midfielder Christos Kourfalidis following the expiration of his contract with Italian side Cosenza.
Kourfalidis, 23, is a former Greece Under-21 international who earned his Serie A debut at the age of 19 and has made 74 career appearances in Serie B with Cagliari, Feralpisalò, and Cosenza.
Born in Thessaloniki, Kourfalidis joined Cagliari’s academy at the age of 16 and worked his way from the Under-17s to being named captain of the Primavera team to breaking into the first team, eventually making his professional debut in the Coppa Italia against Cittadella in December 2021 and his Serie A debut against Fiorentina in January 2022.
After Cagliari’s relegation from Serie A, Kourfalidis made 21 appearances with one goal and three assists in the 2022/23 season, helping the team earn an immediate promotion back to Serie A under manager Claudio Ranieri.
Upon the Sardinians’ promotion, Kourfalidis went on loan to Serie B side Feralpisalò for the 2023/24 season, making 29 appearances with three goals and two assists. The following summer, Kourfalidis was sold to Cosenza, where he would make 24 appearances in the 2024/25 season.
Kourfalidis suffered a torn ACL in August 2025, and returned to Cosenza’s squad beginning with a league match on 22 March 2026.
At international level, Kourfalidis earned 14 caps with the Greece Under-21 national team between 2022 and 2024, registering one goal and three assists.
