Athens Kallithea FC announce a lease agreement with Panathinaikos FC for the use of Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium for the 2024/25 season.
AKFC will open the season with two consecutive away matches against Levadiakos on Sunday 18 August at 19:00 and Olympiacos on Monday 26 August at 20:30 before playing their first home match against Panathinaikos on Sunday 1 September at 22:00.
AKFC recognize Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium as a historic and sacred ground. As a symbolic gesture of respect, AKFC and Panathinaikos have agreed to close Gate 13 and Gate 14 for the entirety of the season, with the exception of the match between the two clubs on 1 September.
The 16,000-seat stadium is the oldest active stadium in Greece. Located on Leoforos Alexandras in the central Athenian district of Ambelokipi, the stadium is easily accessible by public transportation, just 200 meters away from the Ambelokipi metro station on Line 3 of the Athens Metro.
In the coming days, AKFC will release 2024/25 season ticket packages via Ticketmaster.gr, which is accessible in both Greek and English.
AKFC’s historic home, Grigoris Lamprakis Stadium, which is owned and operated by the Municipality of Kallithea, does not currently meet the stadium criteria defined in the relevant regulations. To date, the Municipality have not made the necessary actions and investments in order for the stadium to meet those regulations in anticipation of the club’s promotion to the Super League, which has prompted the temporary move to Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium.
Athens Kallithea FC would like to thank Panathinaikos FC for their cooperation.
