Athens Kallithea FC announce the appointment of Vangelis Moras as first team manager.
The 44-year-old former Greece international center-back has served as manager of the Greece Under-19 national team over the last two years, and recently led the team to the Elite Round of 2026 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification.
As a club manager, Moras won promotion to Super League 2 with Ethnikos Neo Keramidi in the 2023/24 season, and previously managed Apollon Larissa and Elassona.
As a player, Moras spent the prime of his career in Italian football, making 181 appearances in Serie A and 86 appearances in Serie B with Bologna, Cesena, Verona, and Bari, where he played under managers including Siniša Mihajlović, Alberto Malesani, Andrea Mandorlini, and Luigi Delneri. He also had a short spell in the Premier League with Swansea City under Brendan Rodgers.
Born in Larissa, Moras launched his career with hometown club AEL, spent two seasons at Proodeftiki, and went on to join AEK, where he finished league runner-up twice and played Champions League football across four seasons, working under Dušan Bajević, Fernando Santos, and Lorenzo Serra Ferrer, before making his move abroad.
Moras would finish his career back in Greece with Panetolikos, Larissa, and Apollon Larissa, ultimately making 145 total appearances in the Super League.
At international level, Moras earned 27 caps with Greece’s senior national team, and was a member of the 23-man squad at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Welcome, Vangelis.
