Athens Kallithea FC appoint Stelios Malezas as manager

Athens Kallithea FC announce the appointment of Stelios Malezas as first team manager.

Malezas, the 39-year-old former Greece international and PAOK captain, was recently honored as 2023/24 Manager of the Year in the Super League 2 North Group for his work on the bench of Makedonikos.

He previously managed the PAOK Under-19s for three seasons, winning the Super League Under-19 championship in 2020/21.

As a player, Malezas wore PAOK’s black and white for 11 seasons, winning the Super League title in 2018/19 and three consecutive Greek Cups from 2016/17 to 2018/19, and making 241 appearances for the club across all competitions, including 26 appearances in UEFA competitions. He spent two more seasons in the Super League with Panaitolikos and Xanthi and another two seasons in Germany with Fortuna Düsseldorf.

At international level, Malezas earned three caps with Greece’s senior national team, and was a member of the 23-man squad at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2012 UEFA European Championship.
