Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of Moldova youth international Andrei Moțoc from Italian Serie B club Salernitana.
Moțoc, a 22-year-old, 1.95-meter-tall center-back and defensive midfielder, has made one Serie A appearance with Salernitana and spent last season on loan with Legnago under AKFC manager Massimo Donati.
Born in Chișinău, Moțoc moved to Bologna at a young age and began playing football with amateur clubs Granamica and Sasso Marconi before joining Carpi, where he would eventually break into the first team and make his first two professional appearances — one in Coppa Italia, one in Serie C — at the age of 18 in the 2020/21 season.
Moțoc moved to Salernitana the following season, and he would make his Serie A debut at the age of 19 in January 2022, playing all 90 minutes in a 3-0 loss to Lazio.
After a six-month loan spell with Siena, Moțoc spent the entirely of the 2023/24 season on loan with Legnago in Serie C, making 27 total appearances and helping Legnago qualify for the promotion playoffs.
In international play, Moțoc has made 13 appearances for Moldova’s Under-21 national team.
Welcome, Andrei.
