Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of Malta international midfielder Alexander Satariano, 23, on a free transfer from Maltese side Birkirkara FC.
Born in St. Julian's in Malta, Satariano made his professional debut at the age of 15 with St. Andrew's FC in the Maltese Premier League. By the age of 17, he was a first-team regular for the club, making 23 starts with one goal in the 2018/19 season.
After two more seasons in the Maltese Premier League, making 34 appearances with eight goals and two assists for Sliema Wanderers, Satariano would earn a move to Italy’s Serie B with Frosinone.
Satariano made his Serie B debut at the age of 20 in August 2021, and he would make one more league appearance for the club in the 2021/22 season. After a loan to Serie C side Pergolettese, Satariano would return to the Maltese Premier League with Balzan Youths, making 26 appearances with two goals and six assists in the 2022/23 season.
Over the last two seasons, Satariano made 66 appearances with six goals and eight assists for Birkirkara FC, and he captained the side in UEFA Conference League qualifiers earlier this month.
In international play, Satariano has earned 37 caps and scored three goals for Malta’s national team. His debut with the senior team came at the age on 19 in November 2020.
Welcome, Alexander.
