Adil Nabi joins Athens Kallithea FC

Athens Kallithea FC announce the acquisition of English attacking midfielder Adil Nabi on a free transfer following the mutual termination of his contract with Super League 1 club Atromitos. Nabi, 28, has signed personal terms through the 2022/23 season.

Nabi has made 57 career appearances in the Greek top flight with OFI Crete and Atromitos.

Born in Birmingham, Nabi came through the academy at West Bromwich Albion, where he scored 26 goals with 12 assists in 73 matches for the Under-21 side and earned Young Player of the Season honors in 2014/15.

After a loan to Indian Premier League club Delhi Dynamos, Nabi would leave West Brom and have spells in League 1 with Peterborough United and the Scottish Premiership with Dundee before arriving in Greece with OFI Crete in January 2019.

In the second half of the 2018/19 season, Nabi made nine appearances with three goals and one assist to help OFI avoid direct relegation, and he would then score a 96th minute winner against Platanias in the second leg of the relegation playoff to secure OFI’s place in Super League 1.

The following season, OFI would finish sixth and qualify for the UEFA Europa League for the first time in 20 years with Nabi making 25 appearances (20 starts) with four goals and three assists during the campaign.

In total, Nabi would make 53 appearances with nine goals and four assists for the historic Cretan side before a switch to Super League 1 rivals Atromitos in January 2022. Nabi made nine total appearances with one assist for Atromitos before joining AKFC.

A former England youth international, Nabi earned nine caps with the Under-17 national team and two caps with the Under-16 national team.

Welcome, Adil.
