Despite having control of the ball and creating a host of good chances, the AKFC Under-19 side could not find a breakthrough and took a 0-2 defeat to Panathinaikos in the opening match of the season. After having a penalty saved in the 14th minute, AKFC conceded twice against the run of play early into the second half, and, despite dominating the rest of the match, could not convert on chances to mount a comeback.
